This lovely park is at the corner of North Congress Street and Kings Mountain Street in York, SC.
The property for this pedestrian park was developed by the Yorkville Historical Society and the Clean Community Committee beginning in 1984. The property was later donated to the City of York by Joseph E. Hart Jr. in 1991. The property was once the site of the home of Mr. Hart’s grandfather W. Bedford Moore and was created as a memorial to him.
Paul Thompson of the Clemson Extension Service of York designed the current landscape. Plants were provided by the Yorkville Historical Society and installed by the York County Master Gardeners.
The City of York provides ground maintenance. The Yorkville Historical Society decorates the gazebo for the Christmas Season.
In summer of 2017, the Yorkville Historical Society had the gazebo painted and replaced the ferns with lovely wind chimes.
