Society honored

YORK–The Yorkville Historical Society’s “Stories of the Stones” has won an Award of Merit from the Confederation of S.C. Local Historical Societies. Martha and Jose Rosalez videotaped the October re-enactments in Rose Hill Cemetery.

They put together a terrific DVD showing the complete tour, and submitted it for consideration. The Rosalezes went to the Poinsett Hotel in Greenville in March to accept the award. If you missed the cemetery tour, you can purchase the 38-minute DVD for $25; it’s available at Lion Art, 13 N. Congress St., York. [The DVD is no longer available at that location.]
